Shimmering Seahorse

I decided to really step out of my comfort box and I had a great time doing it.  I found a new challenge and it challenged me. =)  At 101 Watercolor Challenge they wanted to see "salt technique" with watercolors.  I don't have watercolor paints but I do have some LuminArte Sparkling H2o Paints and you have to use a waterbrush with them so I thought that would work.  I watched the videos that they linked to and below is the end result.  The background of water that is.  I used three different colors to make the water. Ocean Wave, Mystic Blue,  and Moss Green.  I then just used Iridescent Green to paint the Seahorse.
Here is a close up shot of the water and Seahorse.  I used table salt because in the videos I liked that look more than Kosher salt.  I didn't brush off all of the salt on my water because it sparkles pretty. This beautiful seahorse came from a new Doodle Pantry set called Carousel Seahorse.  The set does come with him already colored and on a pole because he is part of her new carousel sets.  He also comes with 7 digital papers and 4 sentiments.  You can see one of the sentiments in the above photo.
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
101 Watercolor Challenge - Salt Technique
The Stamping Boutique - 2 DP, circle, and square

Wanna do some fishing?

Have you met Donnie from Digital Delights?  Isn't he a cutie?  I sure think so.  I cut him out and added him in front of the bucket full of fish.  Do you have a fisherman in your family?  If so, they would really enjoy a card with Donnie, or his fishing dad Donald.  Both of them, the bucket with the fish, an anchor, and a sentiment can all be purchased in the "Gone Fishing Set".  Remember to stop by the Delightful Challenge and just add some ribbon to join in the fun there.

Snappy Birthday

Have a snappy birthday.  I love pun sentiments and this is a keeper.  This cute crab in from 2 Cute Ink Digital Stamps and is called Beach Ball Crab.  It just makes me smile seeing a crab in swimming trunks.  The image comes with him holding a beach ball over over his head.  I wanted him to be holding this banner so I cut him out, then I had to cut his "arms" off to spread them just a little to hold the banner better.  Today at 2 Cute Ink Challenges we are starting a new two week challenge.  This challenge is an "anything goes" one, so everyone can jump on in the fun and play along.  I hope to see you all there!

Tubing Fun with Sally

Have you met Tubing Sally yet?  I think she is just so fun.  She is from Digital Delights.  She is floating on some waves in her digital image.  But, I thought the swoshes on my paper could also pass as lazy river waves. So she is cut out and layered with some lazy waves.
Below is the inside of my card.  I always decorate the inside of my cards but rarely show them so today I thought I would do that.  I always use the up scraps from the front of my card.  I usually don't add a sentiment on the inside but this one was perfect.  It is also from Digital Delights and the set is called Heatwave Sentiments

A sunflower hello

Well, I tried something different this afternoon.  I have no drawing skills by any means so this was completely out of my box.  I drew the clouds behind my darling little girl.  I have a long way to go but I will try them again.  I use Copic markers and I am going to get some softer blue ones and maybe one shade softer in the grey also.  But, I did have a good time so that is what counts.  This little cutie is from 2 Cute Ink Images.  She is called Sunflower Girl.  She is new this month to Heidi's Etsy store.  You better go and check her out.  Also remember to join us at the 2 Cute Ink challenge.  Our theme is "kids" so she would fit in perfectly.

New Challenge at 2 Cute Ink

WooHoo!  It's time for a new challenge over at 2 Cute Ink Challenges.  This challenge we want to see "kids".  How fun and easy right!  To celebrate our new challenge we received two new adorable kids to color up and play with.  I choose the "Boy and Frog" image.  Isn't he just the cutest! See the little frog in his hands.  My boys would have had the frog behind their backs and saying "close your eyes and hold out your hands mom".  Anyone else learn the hard way not to trust little boys with that?  Funny memories now.

Release day for Doodle Pantry

Today is the new release day at Doodle Pantry.  Laurie is moving and has a ton to do so this month she delayed the release for a couple days.  She has two young ones at home this summer and frankly I don't know how she gets so much done the way it is.  Anyway, I used the set Topped with Class for my card.  I just couldn't resist those top hats.  I enlarged the hat using Word program and copied it three times.  I used Copic markers to color them in.  This set is so much fun.  You will have to check it out to see everything that you receive with this set.
I would like to submit this card into these challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - Keep it Simple
Creative Card Crew - Masculine
Deep Ocean - Add a Sentiment
